Sorry I have been out of the loop this week. I have been hard at work on my first video piece for LAist.com! I have never produced anything “hard news” before, so it is a little rough, but I think it turned out OK.
I am getting more interested in documentary film making, so I am starting to consider this a first step. From here, who knows, right? And the workshop is pretty cool, too. If you are in LA, and are a filmmaker, you should check it out.
Here’s the article itself.
Tell me what you think in the comments.
Well done!!
As for the information given in the video…
Is it only a workshop for existing filmmakers or also for people who might want to enroll in a serious program?
At first glance I thought “Wow, you’ll probably learn more within a day than within our 2 years of studies.” *G, then I was wondering, if any of the staff members is actually teaching the people coming to this place or is it more like an open house day at college where you can check out things?
Thus, filming some young people checking out things would have been cool.
The guy is scratching his nose after saying “Noboy has ever stolen anything.”… looks kinda suspicious *LOL No offense, whoever you are! ; )
It’s more like a college open house–everyone is invited to participate. If you were in LA, you should definitely come out. Maybe the next workshop will be in your neck of the woods, though.
This was great!! Lol my only thought was that in your opening, you look like you’re having a hard time not laughing, which *almost* makes it seem like you don’t take this place/piece seriously. But the shots and editing are all great! You picked really good sound bytes. Now I DO totally want to check it out.
Oh, haha, and the guy scratching his nose didn’t bother/alarm me. 😛
Thanks so much for the feedback, Kristan! I was trying to be upbeat, hopefully it didn’t come off as goofy.
